Well, it's that time again. I've sold my 2006 MAZDASPEED 6 to a guy locally (whom I think will take good care of it) and bought a 2004 Grand Prix GTP with the Special Edition package on it in the Superior Blue color. Oh man is it beautiful! And it cost less than half what the SPEED 6 did! So now I can start saving for that Viper :)
I'd been looking for a new car for a while so I could get out from underneath the payment of the Mazda. I was initially looking for another Mazda 6 like the '04 I used to have, but then I test drove one and reallized how slushy their suspension was and the severe lack of power under the hood (this was the 220 hp V6). I think the MAZDASPEED 6 ruined me for the regular Mazdas... So then I started looking for something with a little more power and came across the GTP's. I'd owned a 1999 Grand Prix GT before and it was peppy enough so I figured the GTP's would run strong. I found one in MN at the Harry Browns dealer in Faribault. My dad and I went up there ealrier this week to take for a spin and just fell in love with the car. It's a little rough around the edges but the interior is very plush and comfortable and I love the Superior Blue colored exterior. The Special Edition package seems to be somewhat rare as I'm not finding much info online about it other than it being a $1995 package that includes upgraded wheels, Special Edition badging, a "supercharged" decal on the hood scoops and few other things. I would have liked to have found a Comp G with the Special Edition package but I'm happy with the one I got :)
